Growing up with a military dad isn’t always what one would expect. Where most popular media like to display military father’s as drill sergeants, my dad kept a strict separation between work and private life.

That however did not mean he didn’t have interesting stories to tell about his time as a career soldier. He was in the military for 37 years and he’s given me permission to turn his sometimes fantastical stories into comicform, because some are just too entertaining not to share.

For those of you wondering about this particular one, though it might be mean, it was to teach them to quickly pack up again and move after making a noise. Or so he claims.

Note: Obviously he wasn’t a Sergeant Major his entire career, however for a very large chunk of my childhood that was the rank he held. Also these stories will not be told chronologically, just as I can work them into proper comics.
